MORE FINES FOR SMOKERS AND RUBBISH DUMPERS IN CROYDON
FINES TOTALLING almost £5,000 have been handed out to 17 more people in the latest round of the ‘Don’t Mess with Croydon’ campaign.
The biggest fine in the latest round of court hearings was one of £720 for two counts of dumping household waste in New Addington.
Five people who dropped cigarette ends were fined between £270 and £420 each. Six more were fined between £132 and £150.
Fines totalling £520 and £370 for dumping waste; £270 for dumping household waste; £270 for urinating in North End and £270 for spitting in North End were also imposed.
Since launching the Don’t Mess campaign in summer 2014, Croydon council say it has has issued more than 800 fixed penalty notices.
