A Neighbourhood Watch presentation is being held on 13th March at 6.30pm at St John’s Church, Auckland Road, SE19 2RT. PEOPLE FOR PORTLAND ROAD SEEK VOLUNTEERS
Don’t forget, that in advance of the PPR annual general meeting in June, we’re inviting all our supporters to find out if they’d like to get involved in helping to run the group. We expect that there will be vacancies on the steering group. So come along to our next meeting and see what we do – Tuesday 28 March, 7.30pm upstairs in the Gold Coast pub. Let us know if you’d like to come, by emailing [email protected]
TRANSITION TOWN MEMBERS BAG RUBBISH
On Sunday 22nd January 2017 eight Crystal Palace Transition Town members set off on a litter pick from St.John’s church in Auckland Road, via Cypress and South Norwood Hill to the Arqiva broadcasting tower. In an hour and three quarters we recovered over 10 bags of rubbish for recycling and disposal by Croydon Council. We also talked dozens of people along the way who stopped us and asked why we were doing this – we had some great conversations about the need to protect the environment, take pride in the community and get involved with Transition Town.
