WEAR YOUR WELLIES ON WESTOW STREET!
If you’re going to Westow Street today (Tuesday) – take your wellies.
A huge water leak overnight has left large puddles along the road from Ovett Close to the Westow Hill / Central Hill / Gipsy Hill junction.
And if you’re crossing by the Sparrowhawk pub stand well back from the road as buses and heavy vehicles were putting up loads of spray onto the pavements this morning.
A Thames Water spokeswoman told News From Crystal Palace: “It’s a fire hydrant that’s leaking after it was accidentally damaged by a third-party.
“We’ll be repairing it overnight tonight while the road is closed off for the council’s work.
“Also, as demand for water is lower overnight, by us doing the work out of hours it will significantly reduce the impact on supplies to the local area. “We expect to get it all done tonight.” (Work repaired overnight, no water on road at around 8am today Wednesday – Ed.)

FLOWERS ON MEMORIAL
Bunches of flowers have been placed on the war memorial in Westow Street in the wake of the terrorist attack at Westminster a fortnight ago. One pays tribute to PC Keith Palmer ‘ex-Royal Artillery’. He served in the RA at the same time as MP James Cleverly, former GLA member for Bexley and Bromley
