UPPER NORWOOD BOOK (BOOZE?) CLUB – LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA
From Upper Norwood Book Club: Just a little reminder that our next Book Club meeting will take place this Saturday (10th June) at 2.30pm at the Grape and Grain pub on Anerley Hill. We’ll be discussing Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
Our meeting after that will take place on Saturday 8th July, hopefully back in Upper Norwood Library if the refurbishment has been completed by then. The meeting will take place at the usual time of 2.30pm and we’ll be discussing Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi, which I will hopefully have copies of to distribute this Saturday and will leave any extra copies at whichever venue we use.
Message from the lovely Rita: “We’ll be meeting at the Grape and Grain pub again (2 Anerley Hill, SE19 2AA) for our Book Club gathering tomorrow, thereby earning the title of booziest book club in town (despite the fact that most of us order fizzies or tea!).
“The pub isn’t serving any food so feel free to bring any nibbly bits – but not too many as we always seem to have leftovers.
“Please do bring back any old book group titles if you still have them. “I’m bringing my ruckie and not planning anything extravagant afterwards so don’t mind being your returns service.”
