So we’ve got the gym we wanted in Carnegie library – and stuff the library users.
Did they really think we’d listen to them?
OK so we had to go through the motions of pretending to take on board their 313 letters of objection.
We’re going to spend £4 million putting these gyms in at the Carnegie and the Minet.
Where’s the money coming from? What sort of stupid question is that?
It’s because we haven’t got money to spend on libraries or librarians or library assistants you thickos!
Or repairing council estates like Central Hill and Westbury which we can’t afford to repair. That’s why.
Even though we bunged the banks and building societies £100 million last year despite not owing them anything.
Now we have to ‘decide’ which of the two groups to hand the library building over to.
One of these was started up by the Friends of Carnegie Library, the other by the five-member Carnegie Community Trust which has two ex-Labour councillors and the life partner of a former Lambeth Labour council leader on it…………
