NORWOOD SOCIETY’S local history group have a new home for the New Year.
Their monthly meetings are being held in Upper Norwood joint library on Westow Hill with a new start time of 7.30pm.
The January event on Thursday 16th will be a social evening at which the group’s 2014 programme will be announced accompanied by a small exhibition of mounted photographs of the area dating back to the 1960s which have recently been uncovered in the Society’s archives.
“Some of the photographs are absolutely amazing” say the local history group.
Admission is free and non-members are welcome. (Tea and biscuits available for a small fee).
Talking of their decision to move their meetings to the library the group say they are grateful to staff at the Phoenix Centre – their former meeting place in Westow Street- for their help and support.
“But we just felt it was time for a change
