Norwood Foodbank’s website says: “We rely on food donations to feed local people in crisis so please give what you can. “Could you donate in-date non-perishable food from our shopping list?
“Alongside our regular shopping list, as stocks deplete we may be in urgent need of particular items so please check back on our website regularly.
“We urgently need: UHT milk especially full fat; Nigerian brown beans; pounded yam; instant mash;
tinned sponge puddings; packet/tinned custard; hot chocolate; nappies size 4/5/6; baby food for seven months +; fruit juice and squash.
Donations are welcome at St Paul’s church, Brixton, Tuesdays 10am-1.30pm, Saturdays 11am-2pm, Sundays 11am-1pm and at St Luke’s Church, Norwood, Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 3pm or at any Sunday service 10.30am and on the Norwood Feast days.
PLEASE MAKE SURE….Norwood Foodbank say they have received a wonderful response to requests for donations and are very grateful to everyone for their help.
“BUT please ensure that all food you donate is in date and with as long a date as possible. “We recently discovered two jars, one of which was best before 1996 but our oldest is 1992 – older than some of our volunteers!!”
