MORE HISTORY OF THE MURDERED REVEREND’S SUITCASE DISCOVERED…..HISTORY TALK – WATES IN THE WOODS
More has been discovered about the suitcase which belonged to The Rev George Parry – who was murdered during the D-Day landings – and which has featured on BBC TV News London.
The sutcase – which was sold to Bambino’s emporium in Church Road – was bought at a jumble sale in Reading in 1988 or 1989. The buyer regularly attended jumble sales in that area at the time, dates of which he got from local newspapers.
But he cannot – understandably – remember which jumble sale it was.
A programme about Jenni Crane’s search to find more about Rev Parry will be broadcast after September on BBC Radio 4 under the title Suitcase :A story of fate.
