LAMBETH HOUSING SCANDAL – FOUR: “DON’T GIVE UP YOUR SECURE TENANCY” Tenants and leaseholder’s anger voiced
Don’t negotiate with Lambeth – and don’t give up your secure tenancy.
That was the message from Nicola Curtis, who chairs Central Hill residents association, as she and others slammed Lambeth’s antics.
“Tell them to get a court order. “Going to court will take two years to get us out” she added to applause.
“We are not going nowhere. “I’m sticking with Cressingham. “We fight this together.”
CRESSINGHAM RESIDENT DISCOVERED HER HOME WOULD BE DEMOLISHED VIA TWITTER – “Their consultation is a ticking box process telling lies.”
Cressingham resident Mariana Nwagboso said she only learned her home would be demolished after her son read about it – on Twitter.
“Lambeth council have no interest in any of us. “They don’t want to listen to what people say. “Their consultation is a ticking box process telling lies.
“The power you have is sticking to your home. “You should not be afraid or scared.
“Wake up and smell the coffee.”
“DEMOLISHING AN ESTATE FOR MOULD AND ASBESTOS – ARE YOU MENTAL?”
Mould and asbestos were a minor issue on the estate – but a lot of people were being duped into believing it wasn’t.
“Get a life – just vent the b***** thing yourself. “And there’s hardly any asbestos in there.
“Get up and do something. “You’re letting these people walk over you. “What is wrong with you? leaseholder Cliff Grant told the meeting.
“Demolishing an estate for mould and asbestos – are you mental?” he asked.
