MOTORISTS WANTING TO ACCESS ST AUBYNS ROAD SHOULD GO UP WOODLAND ROAD AND TURN LEFT – BUT BE AWARE THERE IS ALSO A TEMPORARY TWO-WAY WORKING ON PART OF WESTOW STREET WHICH IS OPEN. NO ACCESS FROM ANERLEY HILL END.
PEDESTRIANS AND MOTORISTS USING CHURCH ROAD BY THE WHITE HART NEED TO BE AWARE THAT THERE WAS ONE NEAR-MISS THIS MORNING WHEN A MOTORIST LOOKING TO TURN RIGHT INTO WESTOW STREET GOT FED UP, SIGNALLED LEFT AND ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION AS HE MOVED INTO THE LEFT HAND LANE.
Emergency work to repair a collapsed sewer in Westow Hill, Crystal Palace begins tomorrow morning (Tuesday) at 3 am.
“The essential work means the road will be closed between Coopers Yard and Beardell Street and temporary lights and diversions will be in place to manage traffic flow” said Thames Water in a statement
LAS also attended and the pedestrian – an elderly woman – was taken to a south London hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries, said a Metropolitan Police spokesman.
“A local road closure is currently in place and traffic officers are investigating the incident. “No arrests at this stage. “Enquiries continue” added the spokesman.
