Brockmans: Purple beans
We’ve been thinking about plastic. Anna from The Store Cupboard says “Our mission at The Store Cupboard – beside of selling affordable and delicious organic products – is to reduce plastic waste. Bring your own container (we take any jar, bag or box) and get five pence off per item. Unfortunately we can’t always prevent our stock arriving in plastic bags – but where possible we give them to Cosmo from Roots & Cycles who recycles them into beautiful sandwich wrappings (see pic). So you can save plastic wrappings at your next picnic or lunch-break. Hooray! We’re looking forward to see you Saturday, get your containers ready!” Follow The Store Cupboard on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Smoked Produce – London Smoke and Cure Ross says “This week it’s really about one thing and one thing only – cheese, glorious cheese! We’ve got some real winners sourced specially for you. Alongside our ever popular twice smoked cheddar, we’ve got a new Smoked Morbier. If you love cheese full of character this is really for you. It uses two types of raw milk, separated by a thin layer of ash, washed, and then finally smoked by us over oak, there’s really nothing quite like it.
Added to that we’ve got some lovely mild Fourme d’Ambert blue, a big wedge of Comte and some beautiful little goat cheeses. There’s a little bit of some thing for every taste. Also available – our full range of organic streaky bacons and locally smoked deli meats.”
Brett & Bailey: Berry cheesecake
Cakes – Brett & Bailey Joe says “We’re back with another summery selection (despite the weather). Expect our new Strawberry Fizz cake – prosecco sponge with fresh strawberries, luxurious strawberry jam and indulgent prosecco buttercream; a chocolate gateau with pistachio buttercream and plump, ripe figs; and lemon meringue cake with blackberries and a lick of homemade lemon curd.
We’ll also have baked berry cheesecake, Melba squares, blueberry and maple bomboloni, cherry bakewells (made with cherries grown in Crystal Palace – how’s that for local), and our usual favourites including sticky buns, indulgent brownies, cardamom knots, and peanut butter cookies.
For those of you that have been asking for jams, our first batches of the summer will finally appear this weekend. Choose from strawberry and rhubarb, or apricot and vanilla. You’ll find them on the stall next to our homemade lemon curd and Great Taste Award-winning marmalade.
