COMMUNITY PUB FOR SOUTH NORWOOD?
A MEETING aimed at bringing a community pub to South Norwood is being held this Friday.
The inspiration comes from another community pub – the Ivy House in Nunhead.
In a post on Virtual Norwood Hannah Pemberton says: “You probably already know there are loads of different people in South Norwood that are passionate about regeneration (it’s much needed after all!).
“A group of us have got together after being inspired by the Ivy House in Nunhead – the UK’s first fully community owned pub – in to wanting to create our own.
“We’ve been working with the council to identify suitable locations, and this Friday evening we get together to have our first meeting to talk about the project, our up coming meeting with the Ivy House to understand how they did it, and to chat about other things like grant funding, crowd funding and charity registration.
“Obviously for us to get the project off the ground we need people power – and we would like to open the invite to anyone that is interested in getting involved, whether that’s in a big way or a smaller way.
“We’ve set up a website to help gather interest : www.SouthNorwoodCommunityPub.co.uk
“Please feel free to take a look and get in touch via the site if you’d like to join our community pub mission, and feel free to send the link on to anyone you think might be interested too.
“We’ll be meeting on Friday at 7.30pm at Yeha Noha cafe 19-21 Station Road, London SE25.”
