Cakes – Brett & Bailey Joe says “Before we get to the sweet stuff, I thought I’d let you know that I’ve just started offering free cookery demonstrations in partnership with Thermomix! Exciting stuff. Just speak to me on the stall to arrange a fun hour of cooking some delicious food.
And now for this week’s menu: we’re bringing red velvet cake with maraschino cherries, chocolate Guinness cake, apple and salted caramel cake, white chocolate and passion fruit cheesecake, double carrot cake, winter streusel cake, peanut butter bars, shortbread treacle tart with ginger and rye, indulgent dark chocolate brownies with pecans and white chocolate chunks, and plenty of peanut butter and milk chocolate cookies.
We’ll also have a basket full of sticky buns, loads of semlor (don’t worry about us selling out super-early as we’re bringing plenty), as well as our full range of handmade preserves, including our Great Taste Award-winning marmalade. I was going to highlight one of the 3 varieties of Potato but instead I’m going to suggest Jerusalem Artichokes. We have 2 varieties on the stall and they are by far the best we have produced over the last 3 years

Local growing project – Patchwork Farm (a Crystal Palace Transition Town project), selling locally grown food from our community gardens & gluts.
Meat – Gill Wing Farm Andrew says “This week I’ll have chicken – whole portions and breast and thighs and drums; 33 day matured Sussex beef; Pevensey Marsh lamb; pork; sausages and chops.” Meat produced sustainably in East Sussex and Kent. Andrew butchers much of the meat himself – find him on the stall most weeks.

Fish – Veasey’s Dan says “Fishing has been tough this week with the strong winds on the south coast, sadly we have more to come for the beginning of next week too. We and some of the other guys (Micky) have been able to get out to get something for us. We will have a small selection of south coast fish so do try to be early, because of course the early bird catches the….. FISH!

CHIHUAHUA DIES AFTER PARK ATTACK / WESTOW HILL INCIDENT
Police are probing the death of a Chihuahua after it was attacked by another dog in Crystal Palace park.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman told News From Crystal Palace: “Police were called shortly after 15:00hrs on Saturday, 21 January to reports of a dog having attacked another dog in Crystal Palace park.
“Officers attended and have since been informed that the dog has died.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact officers at Bromley via 101 or @MetCC”
WESTOW HILL INCIDENT
Police are hunting occupants of a Peugeot 308 which was in collision with a wall in Westow Hill on Friday afternoon.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman told News From Crystal Palace: “At approximately 15:20hrs on Friday, 27 January a marked police vehicle initiated a pursuit with a Peugeot 308 that had been reported stolen.
“The pursuit commenced in Sydenham Hill and ended at approximately 15:25hrs in Westow Hill, SE19 when the car was in collision with a wall.
“Four occupants of the Peugeot fled the scene.
“One male, believed aged in his 20s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of allowing to be carried and obstructing police. “He has since been charged. “Enquiries continue to trace the others involved.
“There were no reports of any injuries. “Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating the circumstances of the collision.”
