BID TO GET CENTRAL HILL ESTATE ‘LISTED’ – a ‘yes’ would scupper Lambeth council’s demolition plans
An application to have Central Hill estate ‘listed’ for its architectural and historical significance has been submitted to Historic England (formerly English Heritage) by the 20th Century Society.
If the estate was ‘listed’ it would scupper Lambeth council’s plans to demolish it.

Further information on this application is currently awaited. Whether applications to ‘list’ other estates which Lambeth council also want to demolish is currently unknown.
A Historic England spokeswoman told News From Crystal Palace: “We are still in the early stages of assessing this case. “Once our advice has been finalised, it will be sent to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport who make the final decision. “There is no set timeframe for this process.”
