Brett & Bailey: Berry cheesecake
Cakes – Brett & Bailey Joe says “Here’s the goss. Seasons collide on this weekend’s stall – we’ll be giving some B&B summer classics one last outing, while welcoming back some comforting autumnal favourites.
First up is the return of our apple and salted caramel cake. This spiced rum and apple sponge comes layered with salted caramel buttercream and finished with salted caramel drizzle – and it tastes even better than it sounds. You’ll find it on the stall alongside generous squares of plum crumble cake with walnuts and stem ginger, a must with a splash of cream or custard (depending on what the weather’s up to).
We’ll be saying farewell to our strawberry fizz cake, made with lashings of prosecco, as well as our baked berry cheesecake and strawberry and cream bomboloni (don’t worry, they’ll all be back next year). But some things never change – we’ll have plenty of our scrumptious usuals including chocolate Guinness cake, peanut butter cookies, sticky buns, cardamom knots, raspberry bakewells, and indulgent Fairtrade chocolate brownies with pecans, white chocolate chunks and a sprinkling of fleur de sel.
Finally, we’ll have loads of jars of lovely stuff – choose from our range of handmade jams including peach and prosecco, strawberry and rhubarb, apricot and vanilla, and plum and rose. We’ll have our Great Taste Award-winning marmalade on sale too.
There’s no market next weekend for the B&B boys, so catch us while you can! If you can’t make it along this Saturday, order yourself something nice from the Brett & Bailey online shop and collect it from the stall when we next see you on the 17th September. See you soon!”
