Joe from Brett & Bailey is even more excited about cake than usual. “This weekend’s offerings include a scrumptious new pistachio and honey cake – with a fluffy frosting to die for – and a delicious new orange and milk chocolate cookie that also tempts the tastebuds with a delicate whiff of cardamom. Speaking of cardamom, our semlor – cream buns with homemade marzipan – are back due to popular demand. They’re Nordic but nice! Also, as well as our infamous brownies, you’ll be able to try its blonde cousin made with white chocolate, lemon zest and blueberries – a real treat not to be missed. There are also cakes galore – white chocolate and passion fruit cheesecake, coffee and Brazil nut cake, double carrot cake, chocolate Guinness cake AND crumble cake made with new season Kentish rhubarb – all sold by the slice. Not to mention our stall stalwarts – sticky buns – which are perfect for breakfast or whenever you need a bit of sugar in your lifeXx” Bless him.
Stall Thing are having a week off. Coffee, beer and bagels available at Cafe Thing, next to the market.
Next week: Bugs Club – a nature workshop for young children to engage with gardening and nature. More info next week.
Coming up: Want to visit one of our farms? We are organising a Crystal Palace outing to the beautiful, mixed stock Romshed Farm, who supply the market. It will be on Apri 9th, and we can bring up to 30 people. Kids very welcome. This farm visit itself is funded – but we need to get ourselves there and back. Please e-mail us or speak to us at the market, including if you are able to share your car, or you would like a lift.
